November 12th,2017   Interabang Books, Dallas TX, 5 pm – 7pm

Join us for a lively discussion! Two bestselling authors discuss several writing processes. Audience will join in our discussion aimed at helping you find the process that helps you to write at your optimal speed. (Can anyone say NaNoWriMo)

I’ll be co-hosting with Patience Griffin, a bestselling author of women’s fiction. The first book in her Kilts and Quilts series, To Scotland with Love, received a Publishers Weekly starred reviewed, won the New England Readers’ Choice award, and a Golden Quill for best first book. It was also was a double finalist for the coveted RITA® award. Griffin loves to write about home, heart, and community.

Although Patience and I are close friends and critique partners, we use distinctly different writing methodologies. Hang out with us on November 12that Interabang Books from 5 to 7PM. Join in our light-hearted debate about what works for me vs her, what doesn’t, and why. It’s bound to be enlightening, and you may discover a new technique that boosts your process to the next level.

November 13th, 2017 9:40 EST

I’ll be chatting with the TC Roberson HS Girl Up Club in North Carolina. If you’re at TCRHS stop in and join our discussion. We’ll be be talking about ways women have influenced change throughout history.

September 11, 2012 I will be presenting The Secret Life of Pantsers—Magic Tricks and Delightful Games  The Austin Romance Writers meet at 7-9 p.m.  at Northwest Recreation Center, located at MoPac and 2222 in North/Central Austin.

Are you a frustrated Pantser (one who writes by the seat of his or her pants) living in a plotter’s world? Where do you fall on the Pantser versus Plotter scale? Take the quiz and find out.

Pantsers leave your struggles behind. Learn why you write the way you write. Plotters and Pantsers alike will benefit from discussing tricks, tools and delightful games that make a writer’s life easier. The creative mind is fabulously brilliant but also temperamental. Learn how to nurture and protect your unique type of creativity and keep your muse happy.

Kathleen Baldwin workshop

Set yourself free by utilizing story analysis tools. Kathleen distills analysis methods such as Swain and Bickham’s Scene and Sequel into easy-to-understand forms. Pantsers take heart! You can have your cake and eat it, too. You can excel at craft and yet still hold onto the wild adventure of “storytelling.”
