This page is to inform website visitors to the KathleenBaldwin.com website regarding our policies concerning the collection, use, and disclosure of Personal Information should you sign up for Kathleen Baldwin’s newsletter or enter any contests or giveaways from her website. The effective date of this policy is October 25, 2003, and it was most recently revised on May21, 2018. Except as explicitly stated below, we will not affirmatively notify users of changes in our policy; but we will abide by the policy in effect at the time we collect data from any user of this website.

The section below entitled “Children’s Privacy Policy” applies solely to children who have not yet reached their 13th birthday.

Children’s Privacy Policy

Collection of information from Children Under 13: When a visitor to our website is under the age of 13, we do not require the disclosure of more Personal Information than is reasonably necessary for her or him to participate in an activity as a condition of such participation. We collect from children under age 13 no more than names, and email addresses, depending on reasonable need. We do this in connection with submissions of suggestions and content and requests for information. With the exception of newsletter required information—described further below—we do not store personal information from a child below the age of 13. For simplicity, our further references to “parents” are intended to include “legal guardians” as well. These procedures are discussed further below.

Our General Practice Regarding Parental Consent: We may unknowingly have collected a child’s email address in order to respond to a comment. A child under 13 years of age may create a message by misrepresenting their age, or they may enter a contest that is intended for visitors who are 13 and older. All contest entries are deleted at the end of the contest period and are not stored. Messages and or comments of users who are under the age of 13 are deleted upon discovery.

EXCEPTIONS TO Our General Practice Regarding Parental Consent: We may collect a child’s name and email address to the extent reasonably necessary to protect the security or integrity of the website; to take precautions against liability; to respond to judicial process; or, to the extent permitted under law, to provide information to law enforcement agencies or for an investigation on a matter related to public safety. In each of these cases, the information will not be used to re-contact the child or for any other purpose, and will not be disclosed on the website.

Means for Parents to Review Personal Information of their Children and Revoke Consent. Parents may request at any time to review their child’s personal information, to delete it, to refuse to permit further collection or use of the child’s information, and/or to revoke any consent. Upon request from a parent: We will give the parent the opportunity to review any personal information we may have related to his or her child if the parent is able to show that he or she is the parent of that child, by sending reasonable proof via postal mail or by fax. Upon receipt of such proof we will give the parent a description of the general types or categories of personal information collected from children by us. We will also give the parent the opportunity to refuse to permit our further use or future online collection of information from the parent’s child, and the parent may request that we delete any all of the child’s personal information.

If a parent chooses to prohibit further collection or use of the child’s information, and/or revoke consent, we will immediately comply and delete all information relating to that child in our database. However, we will continue to permit the child to participate in activities at the website that do not require personal information, and we will only terminate a service provided to the child if the information in question is reasonably necessary for the child’s participation.

Deletion of Personal Information. We at KathleenBaldwin.com are committed to your safety and privacy. We will comply and delete all logs, email files, comments, and or messages that we have in our data files.

Information Collection and Use. To deliver newsletters, it is necessary for you to provide us with certain personally identifiable information, including but not limited to your name and email address. We agree to never sell or knowingly share this information. Should you decide to opt out, your information will be deleted from the newsletter servers, and our files.

Data Logs. As with all websites, your browser sends some data to the websites you visit–Data Logs. They may include information such as your computer’s Internet Protocol (“IP”) address, browser version, pages of Kathleen Baldwin’s website that you visited, the time and date of your visit, the time spent on those pages, and other statistics.
